I have great respect for Canadian Culture and the way Government of Canada has displayed resolve to address matters that others would like to sweep under the carpet. I trust they will rise to the occasion once again and fix this. lets wait and see what happens...I have faith that a good organization will always rise above negativity and triumph and Canadians seem to have a very good organization in place! Thank you for this feedback that is very important to me. I am happy that my blog is being read and used for the very purpose I created it - improvement of safety.

My book should be ready to go into print in a couple of months, so I hope to be able to resume this blog very shortly!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07944126095009515937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1575923293645662550.post-26795690687207244942013-09-18T09:14:56.267-05:002013-09-18T09:14:56.267-05:00Mr. Human--
Your material has found its way into ...Mr. Human--

Your material has found its way into discussion at this railroad related site regarding the 06 July derailment incident at Megantic QC

http://www.railroad.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=151084&start=630#p1215432

It would appear that, at the time of the Air Ontario incident on which you report, incident investigations were performed by Canada's transportation agency, Transport Canada. So much of Air Ontario 1363 appears to be an agency evaluating itself - even if the report was hardly 'kind'.

However, since this incident, it appears that Canada has followed the US model of an investigative agency completely independent of the agency regulating any transport industry. In the US, that agency is the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB); That in Canada appears to be the Transportation Safety Board/Bureau de la Sécurité des Transports (TSB-BST).

In the case of the railroad incident noted, there appears to be much blame to be spread about any a number of parties. Also, the legitimate claims arising will far exceed resources (the railroad's value as an enterprise plus insurance proceeds) available to satisfy them. Hopefully the now-independent agency can place an unbiased report on the table.

disclaimer: author has no financial interest whatsoever in the outcome of either matter addressed.Gilbert B Normanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17134102979974721315noreply@blogger.com
